Or at least I hope so. I reload using the RCBS uniflow and one problem I've noticed is no matter how hard I try, after using a powder, some of it stays in the bottom ring of the powder thrower. It's not much, but it's definitely there. I've tried using Q-tips and tissues to no avail. What I'm worried about is powders mixing. Does anybody else worry about this?

I'm a beginner but I don't worry about that; the reason is that when I change powders I would be flushing that small amount of powder into several casings and dumping it into a scale to check that I'm getting consistent load weight anyway. That little bit of powder (mixed) is then going to be dumped back into a larger volume of the powder I changed to... diluting it quite alot. It will never be burned in a casing in 'significant' quantity of mixed powders.

I'll have to give that a try. I was fairly certain I was making a mountain out of a mole hill but it's nice to have it confirmed.

I would suggest NOT wiping the drum and screw with anything that could possibly leave a residue. I use powdered graphite and a small brush on all moving parts of the measure it keeps grains from sticking to the metal parts.......

Somewhere I read that running a couple of hoppers of powder through it will help get rid of the static. It worked for me. I find it isn't as hard to get all the powder out when I'm done.

Some powders are just worse than others at sticking in measures. There are a couple of good powders I don't use, simply because of that. Lazy I guess.

Static guard products will help a lot. Some folks have grounded their measures. I have not tried that. I am sure it helps

I clean the measure out completely each time I switch powders, no matter how long it takes, and check down in the insert to be sure none is lurking.

One thing I like about the Vihtavuori powders is they just don't stick in measures due to their shape/weight per "kernel". Some other powders do very well too.

Lil' Gun is driving me nuts. I just started trying it out. It sticks in the measure pretty bad, and I really want to use it. It makes cleaning out the measure a lot more trouble/time consuming.

Yes, that works well for me as well. Ir ead in a few sources that smokeless powder is coated with graphite to help deal with flow and static issues. A couple of hoppers worth of powder and mine don't have sticking issues. If you clean it with alcohol or anything, powder will stick again.

I clean mine with a shop vac in between powder changes, just to pick up whatever granules are caught in the nooks and crannies.

I use dryer sheets wrapped around the outside of the tube and held on with a rubber band. What little that might get stuck in the tube I pull the thrower and just use a shot of air to to make sure no powder remains.
