Hiya Guys ...
Lookie what showed up on the local gun Grapevine yesterday, unfortunately a friend that I do a lot of gun business with beat me to it.
The next thing I know I get a text from him letting me know that he has it and he's interested in a trade. He's been after my AR & of course that's what he's interested in. Well, I thought about picking one of these up when they first started importing them but at the time there were a couple other things that were on my bucket list I wanted to add to my collection first and I wound up missing the boat on these because they're almost impossible to find now let alone get a good deal on.
Well, I jumped online to do a little research and refresh my memory on these and as I suspected they've jumped 3x or more in price since they quit importing them, the supply dried up and the demand went up just like we've all seen many times, needless to say, since I only had $400 into my AR I jumped on the trade deal and now I finally have a really nice Century Arms 7.62x39 VZ58 (VZ2008) .
I'm not very fond of the side folding stock and I will be looking to replace it with a standard vz58 buttstock, but as far as that goes I really like the look of the Bakelite furniture. This has an open bolt carrier design just like the SKS or the mini 14 which I really like and I also like the extended bolt charging handle & the muzzle brake & I really like the fact that it has the last round bolt hold open feature as well as a stripper clip feed on the bolt carrier just like the SKS. This also has a nice trigger and standard ak-style sights and it came with two 30 round magazines and a couple hundred rounds of Tula Ammo & the original sling. All-in-all I like it, I'm happy and I think this was a really good trade ....
