It has been noted that, As California Goes, So Goes The Nation. Perhaps, perhaps not, however California does appear to be the fountainhead of all manner of anti gun legislation and political lobbying activity, particularly including recently enacted legislation as well as existing Safe Gun Laws, so-called, legislation that flies in the face of common sense and experience.

Re the foregoing, it might be time for gun makers to bite the bullet, that is to tell California anti gunners to "stick it", via simply quitting the California market, INCLUDING LAW ENFORCEMENT SALES AND SERVICE, given that law enforcement is often granted exemptions from the type of legislative opium smoke that seemingly originates in Sacramento.

It would likely cost some money, who knows how much, but as to carrying on sales in and or to California, the following question comes to mind. What price glory?

It's already happening with the bit players.
Barrett and NAA in particular have pulled out.
But it's not going to make a bit of difference.
Companies like NAA cater specifically to civilians. They are a small company precisely because they don't cater to any state or federal agencies.
If they had the CHP contract for sidearms, I really doubt that they would be so strongly pro-gun rights.

The California market is only about portraits of dead presidents, not what they actually wrote.

you need Smith and Wesson and Colt to get involved once they do, then were making progress

even if some one like, Springfield armory, who do a fair LEO business get out, you can still get an M&P comparable to the XD, or a glock. you need S&W and COLT, 2 american names, with thier large gov contracts to stand up

imagine if volvo stoped selling to police,no one would care. volvo has little if any US police sales. now imagine if ford or chevy stoped

What percentage of the LE market is actually still in the hands of American companies, anyway? The Sigs, Glocks, and H&Ks have taken huge chunks of the business. Our own governments could tell "made in the US" companies to take a hike, and still do quite well, thank you. At one time there were bid preferences in place for home based suppliers, but I would be surprised if that has survived.

Please stop hating on CA.

Conduct becoming ladies and gentlemen is expected, without religious, national or other prejudices. That means no slurs on Californians, French, Muslims, cops, women or anyone else.

Just be happy that you live outside of CA...or move over here to experience our many pro-2nd A bretherens.

Well, maybe not, too. Smith & Wesson is the company that hopped into bed with the Snopes Clinton-Liar Gore regime, and Colt is at best a trivial player in the civilian firearms market any more.

Personally, if it's made in California, I don't buy it.

It's really unfortunate that corporate america is about the "Dollar right now" without much thought to long term longevity. Companies are no longer owned by patriarchs who consider their legacy, but by stockholders, and run by people who only need please those stockholders in the short term and cash out.

Sadly. this means none of the big companies who service LE in CA will nut up and walk out. They can get the dollar now. Cops can buy this gun, that gun, any gun they please, with hi-cap mags in the deal. The CEO's of these companies are not looking at the long term market that may become LEO-only across the US, they're looking at 2008 dollars, because retirement in the Caymans is in 2010.

Sad really. I don't know what we're going to do here, or how my fellow voters in the state can not only stand by, but encourage legislators to tell us how, when, and where we can defend our own lives. It's a s*** state of affairs over here.

STI also pulled out of California. I live in California, and I sincerely hope the major players pull out as well. Most particularly, Glock, as most of the cops I see around here are carrying Glocks.

How come the french get exempted? Any forum worth its salt has a few french slurs. I don't know if I'd stay here if I couldn't rake a few frenchmen over the coals. (Would that make frenchfries?)
