So I’ve always wanted a match champion 357. I was looking at the market and out of stock everywhere so to speak. Local cabelas had one for like 1080 or something rediculous. I’d go in the 800’s but that’s about it. So I tell my buddy who’s a brutal negotiator and wheeler/dealer. “Find me this model number…”. 10 mins later he calls me with a local deal to him for 750.00. 25 rd count alledgelly. I say “go get it”! Well he gets it and I drive 200 miles to go pick up. He falls in love with it instantly. He got it for 700.00! So here we are looking for one for him.. can’t find a deal. He’s getting down in the dumps.. on a whim he looks again on that local market and there’s one Novak sight model for 850. Throws my 700.00 recent deal offer at him and he took it! So now we both have one for same money! Mines adj sights, his is Novak. To say we’re both thrilled is an understatement!

Reminds me of a deal my buddy and I came upon where he was looking for a 6" Model 28 Highway Patrolman and couldn't find one in Spokane, WA. I had been looking for a 6" Colt Diamondback. 22 for a long time locally in Aberdeen, WA. He called me to say he had found one at the White Elephant discount store and I had found a 6" Model 28 at Failor's sporting goods in Aberdeen. The following Saturday morning, we met in Ellensburg (200+ Miles for me and 160 for him) to swap. That was a long time ago. How long? Well, both stores have been closed for a while and my brand new Colt Diamondback .22 sold fir $279.99! (IIRC, the Model 28 was around $219).

I’m trying to go Sunday but wifey says “I thought we were going to run around together”? lol yes dear…

Well.......go to her stores first, then tell her it's time to go to your store, which just so happens to be a range.....

Congrats, I'd love to have one too.....among 50 or 60 others I'd love to have. I am a total sucker for those woody grips

Sweet X2! :thumbup::thumbup:

I think @ECVMatt just installed a rear sight on a GP that is a Novak-style adjustable version. (Hopefully he will be along to correct me if I am wrong!)

I would love to find one of those for $700, if there is even a high-priced one locally it gets snapped up by buyers quickly. :(

Let us know how they shoot for you when you guys get a chance to take them out for some exercise. :thumbup:

Stay safe.

Yes! I have a fixed sighted MC that I put the Novak adjustable rear sight on. I also added a gold bead front sight. The gun shot point of aim from Ruger, but I wanted to have some flexibility with heavier and lighter loads. The sights work great and I highly recommend them.

Now onto your score! You guys made out like bandits! I would have a whole safe full of MC's if I could find them for 700 bucks. They really are great revolvers and even more so for $700.

Congratulations on your new shooters!

Nice! I’ve always wanted one of those. The factory grips are sharp but I think that I would put the rubber ones on it if I was shooting it a lot. Great Find! Anything noticeably better than the standard GP100? I know they feel very well balanced but have never fired one.
