my daughter started shooting steel Challenge around 6 months ago and last weekend finally shot a score to get her into an A qualifier.

She shoots Rimfire Open Pistol and Rifle.

We are making the trip to Alabama for the Worlds next month can’t wait to get there. I’m a NASCAR fan so will be checking out Talladega when we are their.

So proud of her

Bill: That is just so awesome on so many levels! Congratulations! I am jealous as none of my kids have really shown much of an interest in shooting other than out plinking with Dad (which they do enjoy).

Oh well, I guess my time at the range is more of my "me-time" now. My wife only goes with me to humor me, and my kids have no real interest either.

You are a lucky man, and have a daughter that took our sport to heart, worked hard, and now has some success to show for it.

Thanks yes I am very lucky funny thing is she got me back into shooting not me getting her into it. I shot Sporting Clays 20 years ago then quit. She said for her birthday she wanted to shoot a handgun. I had no interest in handguns until this but it is a ton of fun. I am not good at it like she is but it’s fun to go and shoot with her and watch her grow.

I have two girls no boys youngest Paige is in Gymnastics. She shoots but like your kids she could care less it’s all about Gymnastics for her and that’s ok it’s fun to watch her do her thing as well.

That is awesome Bill!

I had been mulling over going to that match but I think it best for me to give it another year. I'm a B class shooter still, basically a piker. My goal is to make A this year and move up the following year. My plan is to shoot as many SCSA and Wildcat steel matches as possible this year and do live fire practice at least once/week, dryfire the other days. LOL I'm shooting a SCSA match tomorrow and a wildcat Sunday. Where I live there is at least 1 match almost every weekend within 2 hours drive and my home club hosts the East Coast Steel Challenge Championship which is a really nice match, big and so much fun.

I wish it was as fast a climb for me as our daughter, I hope she keeps at it.
