I am thinging about building a semi auto scout gun fairly light weight say 9 - 10 lbs with a low power scope say 2.5x or 3x able to pull say 6 inch groups at 200 yards. My idea is an SKS with a tapco T-6 stock the question I had was about the tapco 20 round mags, can you still load with striper clips if you just leave the 20 rounder in the gun? If I can't I think I would prefer just loading 10 round stripper clips then the 20 round mags but if I could use the 20 rounder and still top it off with stripper clips I would go that route. Let me know if there are any other good products for this type of project.

I have a Yugo that is capable of 2 MOA with old black box Wolf from a bench at 100 yards. All I've done is add TechSights. It is a little heavy, but I think if you added a lightweight synthetic sport stock and removed the bayonet and grenade launching apparatus, you could trim several pounds of weight from the rifle. The TechSights are awesome, but if you wanted to add optics, I would suggest investing the time and money into having something fairly permanent done to the rifle, like having the Choate mount or one of the SKS side mount brackets professionally installed. Either should be far sturdier than the cheap receiver cover scope mounts. Personally, I say drop it in a lighter stock, remove the stuff from the muzzle you won't need, make the rifle 922 compliant, add TechSights, and forget about optics and aftermarket magazines.

Wow thanks for that post those tech sights look great, I think I am going to get them fo rmy AK as soon as they come out.
