A reminder of why gun rights are good *PICS inside-some graphic*

I think I may have identified the destroyed vehicle as a Panzer 35 or Panzer 38.
They were Czech tanks used by the Germans and look like they could match. A quick Google Image search should give you some decent examples to examine.

My great uncle had pictures of Mussolini and some others hanging upside down in a town square that he took as he passed by the bodies. That picture was lost sometime in the past 10 years, unfortunately. That is one good thing about the digital age - photographs taken recently will last indefinitely, especially once they hit the internet and are then stored in multiple places.

And yet, 90% of Jewish Americans support gun control.

All I can do is shake my head. No other people in modern history have suffered so much at the hands of the government and they still favor a disarmed populace at the mercy of the government. What can you say?

The picture of the knocked out tank is diffently not of Czech origin. The fronts of the tank in the picture and a PZ 35-38 are completely different from each other and tank in the picture is much bigger. I would have to say it is either a early model Sherman. Going by the front, and where the MG ball is, and what is left of the side of the tank. It also looks like the hole in the front is where the incoming round hit the tank. Too add it looks like the second image, the one where the machine gun mount is on the right, is actually flipped when it was processed. The correct one is the other photo where the MG mount is on the left side, which is correct for a Sherman. http://www.pbase.com/lavere/image/70645605

Excellant pictures and a side time in world history. Thanks for the reminder of the evil that men do.

gun registration

My father joined the Marine Corps during the depression. After his discharge he worked for a while and was then drafted into the Army near the start of the war. He too was in Europe, going through France, Belgum and finally Germany. When he came home he stayed in the reserves and at age 38 his unit was reuped and he was sent to Korea. He came home sometime in 1952 when I was 8 yrs. old. I never did hear any stories about anything from anywhere. However there were two things that sent him into an extreme state of agitation. One was not eating all the food on your plate and the other was any hint that the government may try to force its citizens to register all firearms. At the time the reasons escaped me. As I got older they became obvious. I hadn't thought about this for years. This thread was a good reminder of how fortunate we are to live in a country where we haven't had to face either situation.

This upsets me greatly as well. Throughout history we have been disarmed by Anti-Semites and left to the mercy of unsympathetic governments. Now, we are doing it to ourselves.

We cry "Never Again" and then try to take away the tools that would stop a similar occurrence.

Earlier this month I had a discussion/debate with some family members in NYC (one of whom is a gun owner). The basic opinion I got from him was that the ends do sometimes justify the means in regards to gun control and that while he would never sell his firearms, he would be slightly annoyed if Mayor Bloomberg took them away from him.

Sometimes I think we really are doomed.

Sincerely,

Prof. A. Wickwire

It is a head scratcher.
If one believes it could never happen again, or it won't happen here. They have an extremely poor grasp of history and or human nature.
Maybe to some, owning guns equates them to ignorant hicks? If you ask me, that is a rather ignorant stance in itself.
