I don't know anything about revolvers but recently I've started craving for one. In my country we don't get pocket gun-size guns without a special permit that is practically impossible to get so we have to make do with semi-compact guns (think CZ P-01/PCR, Glock 19 Pro etc).

What would be a revolver equivalent of the CZ P-01/Glock 19 Pro (differs from regular 19 only by having slightly longer barrel for silencers which are legal here) in revolvers? Something semi-compact in size, concealable, reliable, very basic (CZ and Glock are both so common that you can find spare parts practically anywhere)?

Also, as I don't know much about calibers, what is the revolver equivalent of the 9mm round? Meaning the most common basic caliber that does the job.

Thanks in advance!
Chris

The Smith and Wesson 3" K-frames, Model 13 (blue) and 65 (stainless) are very close in size to a Glock 19. Both are chambered in .357 Magnum, which means you can fire .357 (somewhat more powerful than 9x19mm) or .38 Special, somewhat less powerful than 9x19mm.

In the opinion of many, including myself, they are the best possible choice for a concealed carry revolver. If you can find one, Smith and Wesson made a batch of 9x19mm revolvers of this size back in the early to mid 1980's, called the model 547. They have long since been discontinued, and are quite expensive now. I am fortunate enough to have one of those, as well.

If I were in Finland I'd be looking for the Manurhin MR73 Gendarmerie (3" barrel). Someday I hope to find the 5" Sport version state side.
