So I guess a lot of us will be pretty down about the Democrat gains recently. Well, here's an idea that might cheer you up: Tommorow, go out and buy a gun. Even if it's a second hand, $25 piece of rubbish that barely works, just go and buy one.

And when you buy it, remember that I can't do the same. If you buy a handgun, I can't buy one fullstop. If you buy a self-loading rifle, same thing. If you buy a shotgun, I have to show my certificate before I can buy one and I have to keep it locked up in a safe, unloaded. If you buy a rifle, the same applies but I have to get police permission for each new rifle. If you buy ammunition for your gun, remember that I can't buy more ammo than the police allow me.

Chin up, and get on with the important business of kicking the donkeys out :D

Beautifully put in perspective Fosbery, you chaps have far more draconian gun laws, we should be glad for what we have, AND protect it. I joined the NRA to help keep the right to bare arms in America, all gun enthusiasts really ought to join too. The guns we save will be our own. :)

convinced me, handgun, rifle, or ar-15 california legal lower?
Too bad I can't afford more than one. Maybe I'll get another in a caliber I already have.

I did my part. With the help of a THR friend, I got an autoloading youth shotgun for a friend's kid. Something to make the Bradies cringe.

Had to buy some new C&R's today. Been looking for a while and figure now would be a good time.

Oleg, I'm thinking I'd give this thread the stautus of a sticky.

VERY good idea. Between now and the next congressional term go buy at least 1 gun, along with 100 rounds of ammo for same.

Takes the sting right out of things.

Especially given our thread originators viewpoint.

I went and bought 200 rounds of linked 7.62*51 ball. Anyone need 200 or so links? I just want the ammo for my evil CETME.... Bahhaaha.....:D

Fosbery I'll buy a $25 Raven, and stick it in the back of my safe and never use it. Consider it yours, I'll just hold it for you:)

Well this is just nuts. It's too expensive. I've been stocking up on guns and ammo since they passed that law in 1968.

Oh, okay, I'm in.

I've got it in mind to order myself a woodless Dane rack grade from CMP and build it into a .308/7.62mm. It won't be tomorrow that I get it, but it'll be pretty fast. I don't know whether I want to build one .308 Garand or two of 'em. But it won't be two at once either way. And I'll hafta stock up on 7.62mm ammo too. Got plenty of en blocs.  I really oughta get myself another shotgun and plenty of 00 too while I'm at it.

Ya'll consider one thing though. If the Democrats screw up any at all, and they will, it'll cost 'em the Presidency in 2008.

I'm think a new RRA ar15, a dozen or so 30 rounders, and a couple thousand rounds of .223 would be a good start. After that a Glock 19 with 6 or so mags.

Don't even like the plastic guns.:D

Like I need more reasons to buy guns. Hell, I'm already drawing on my tax returns from 2010.

By the time I have to pay off my VISA card, I'll be dirt poor, a raging alcoholic, married to my dog and I'll get a free ride anyways from the Pelosi and company since I'll be one of the "people". I'll be laughing at all of you as I collect my wellfare and food stamps. You silly gun nuts.

Sounds like a good excuse to go to the candy store & see what will get me in the least amount of trouble :D

I was thinking the same thing, buy a new gun, just on general principles.

But I specifically want to buy something that would have been totally illegal during the Clinton AWB. Any recommendations? I'm thinking something like a WASR or used AK clone, to spend no more than $300-$400 or so. Flash hider, pistol grip, nice sharp pointy bayonet, 30 round mag or more, any other features that would have been a no-no under the AWB. Legal today of course, but for how long? PM me with specific suggestions. Something in a caliber that has ammo actually available for it, and fun to shoot as well.

I bought mine a bit early.
I went Sat. Nov 4 and tried out a .45 Para-Ordnance Warthog. I LOVED it! I paid my money and brought it home with me along with a Galco holster and an Uncle Mike's holster also.:D
Now if I can find one of those $25.00 guns that you spoke of.....:)
Seriously,it really is kind of crappy at some of the laws elsewhere in the world concerning guns.
