I know Taurus firearms may not have the best reputation around these parts, they're a very love-them-or-hate-them type of firearm, personally, the couple of Taurus guns I've owned have never given me any trouble, I no longer own them, but it wasn't due to unreliabile functioning or anything like that, I just got bored with them and wanted something different, I have no bone to pick with Taurus....
However, what I *would* like to do is give Taurus a nice little thank you for one big reason....
Thank you, Taurus, for *HELPING* to re-popularize the .45 Colt cartridge, to bring more people to that great old cartridge, the Peacemaker cartridge, the one that slings one big ol' chunk-o-lead at nice, comfortable, low pressures, thanks to the popularity of their Judge series, it seems that many shooters are giving the .45 Colt a second look, and liking what they see....
I know that Taurus and the Judge are not the *only* reason for the resurge in popularity of the .45 Colt, but it's not a non-factor either, perhaps a Judge owner one day decides to find out "let's see what this .45 Colt cartridge is all about", maybe they like the results, and maybe the start adding more guns chambered in that great old caliber to their collection, it's a win-win situation
So, thanks to Taurus for taking a chance on the .45 Colt, and bringing more attention to a great old classic cartridge....
Of course, in the interest of equal time....
Darn you Taurus, why did you have to go and help make the .45 Colt cartridge *more popular* again, that increased demand for the cartridge has caused prices on factory ammo** to go up again, .45LC used to be a cheaper cartridge because demand for it was low, now due to increased demand, I have to pay more for factory ammo***, and it's all *your fault*, Taurus!
** assuming I purchase factory .45LC, which I don't, reloading is your friend
***My Ruger NMBK .45 Convertible has seen only *one* box of factory .45LC ammo in it's shooting life with me, I bought a box just to see how it compared to my reloads, I like my reloads better.....
