I had two guns on layaway and picked them both up at the conclusion of a road trip Friday, May 27.

The first I got my paws on was an Old Model Ruger Blackhawk .357 with an auxiliary 9mm cylinder. I'd been considering buying another single action to use in Cowboy Action shooting and now have a matched pair of Old Models.

Next, I picked up a Smith M66 2.5 inch. It's a 66-5 with frame mounted hammer and the new style cylinder latch, but no key lock. If it had the lock I'd still be looking. I have a short Smith M19, but wanted a stainless M66. It took a while to find one at a good price but Hoplite Inc of Shepherdsville, KY advertised some in Shotgun News recently.

Still tired from the road so haven't shot either, but may get out tomorrow or Monday.

Sounds like a good day!

My last 4 guns have been bought in pairs and I've got 2 more coming next week!

Gratifying but expensive.... :)

I plan to lay low for a while.

The 2.5 inch M66 is one I was chasing for a year or two, so that's taken care of. The Blackhawk fills a hole I'd been considering filling for even longer.
Got a couple of .41s in the last year, so the pressing .41 need is lower now.

Of course, I've said that before...

I also saw the Hoplite ad in SGN for the SW 66. What condition is yours in? Is it worth the money? I am looking for a glove box gun, do you think it works for that, ie not worried about scratches or wear, but needs to be functional?

thanks

I always say, a revolver a day keeps the psychiatrist away.
It sounds like you got it under control.

My 2.5 shows evidence of being shot, but is in great shape.
If there's wear it's very minor. The Uncle Mike's rubber grips look good too. I just noticed one little ding on the bottom of the left grip. Nothing major.

The six-inchers in the Hoplite ad were supposed to be new.
