hello folks :D

i did a seach on google, youtube, ar15.com and a few other places and NONE of them got me a answer to "how to sight in a A2 AR" there are many list to how to sight in a scope/reddot and so on but i didn't find a link to the AR iron sight, so here's my question

is there a link or video that show how to sight in an AR using A2 iron sight?

Oh, and since we are in a thread about zeroing, what about using same plane apertures? What distance should those generally be zeroed at (for 5.56mm)?

Same plane apertures generally work best with the 50yd zero since that puts you within 2.6" of point of aim out to 225yds in most cases.

1. make your front sight post flush with the block
2. twist the rear elevation wheel to "z" or 1 click down from 300 if there is no "z"
3. move rear sight all the way either left or right, then to the opposite side, counting the clicks. Divide by 2 and move it back that number of clicks.

Your rifle should now be battle sight zeroed. Find some mil-surp m16 25m targets, set them up *at* 25m, start shooting groups of 3. Follow the handy instructions on the target. Once your rifle is laying down rounds in the 4 cm circle in center of mass, switch the rear elevation from "z" to 300. You should now hit everything you aim at from 0m to 300m.

You should now hit everything you aim at from 0m to 300m.

As long as it is plenty tall... at 100m that zero will put rounds as much as 4-6" high with the small aperture depending on how close you are to actual M4 sights.

I forget that most people shoot for crazy, shoot a flea off a deer tick's bum at 500mm-like accuracy. The zeroing instructions I gave are good to hit crazy Ivans.:D
