My wife has a PCR and it is an excellent gun. CZs have a reputation of being undersprung, but I wouldn't mess with it unless you have feed/extraction/ejection problems (both my P-01 and PCR are fine w/ factory springs). CZs are great guns for the money. Incidentally, PCR stands for Police Czech Republic (if I remember correctly.) The P-01, which I have, is the current Czech Police pistol.

If you also want to plink with the PCR, you can get the Kadet .22LR conversion for it. You may also want to check out the CZ forums - http://p201.ezboard.com/bczechpistols82792 and www.czshooters.com

thanks for the info guys i appriciate it my gun doesnt have PCR marked on it but the box does have it marked ive been doing some research and i think i made a good trade yes i got 2 original cz 10 mags and 2 aftermarket mags im gonna get some 14 standard caps for it as soon as money allows consequintly i traded my taurus 24/7 45 for this gun straight up i think i made a pretty good trade

The PCR is lighter than the compact because it has an alloy frame.

The PCR is DA/SA with a decocker, and is a little thicker than the 75 compact which does not have the decocker, but can be carried cocked and locked or DA/SA.

IMO the PCR is a really fine pistol as is the 75 in regular or compact.

If those 14-rders have a rubber baseplate (it looks like they do), those are CZ's factory magazines. I think I paid $38 each for mine from CZ (OUCH!). I'd look into Mecgar magazines (Mecgar makes them for CZ anyway); they can be had for about $25 if I remember correctly; they don't have the rubber baseplate though.

CDNN has Mecgar 14 round magazines for $18.99. Shipping is $9.99 for up to 100 items.

I just ordered a couple of 16 rounders for my 75B.

When I was doing my research on a CCW gun I decided on a CZ. Now the fun part.

The CZ75 Compact is a steel frame 9mm pistol. Has a safety in place of the decocker.

You can also get a CZ75 Compact in 40 s&W marked on slide in place of 9x19. Again steel frame and safety in place of the decocker.

And then the PCR. Slide is marked CZ75 Compact just like the above mentioned guns except with a D for decocker added...so you have CZ75D on the slide. That is how you know it is a PCR. The difference is that the PCR is a light alloy frame with a decocker in place of the safety.

Great gun. Have fun and shoot safe.

Made a couple of corrections. Have a head cold and can not type.

thanks to everyone for all the info i like the decocker on this one i can take a manual safety on a gun but id much rather it be the Glock or XD style of pull the gun pull the trigger ill have to get used to the double action first shot transistion to single action tho
