Hey guys, might as well consult the peanut gallery before I blow my face off this weekend.

I am about to fire my first reloads ever out of my M1A.

Loads to be tested and fired
40grns of IMR 4895 in a virgin case with a 168 grn BTHP OAL 2.785
41grns of IMR 4895 in a virgin case with a 168 grn BTHP OAL 2.785
40grns of IMR 4895 in Once Fired Lake City brass with a 168 grn BTHP OAL 2.785
41grns of IMR 4895 in OFLC with a 168 BTHP OAL 2.785

40.5grns of IMR 4895 in a virgin case with a 167 grn BTHP OAL 2.785

I have some time to try a few more loads before the weekend anyone suggest anything?

Thats just kinda where I chose to start. Had total hell figuring out how to set up my dies. Once I got good results I stayed there, figured I would see how they preformed, and move up from there. As I said just starting out. You think I should scrap the rounds and move up in OAL?

0.015 deeper - not a problem. Go for it, you won't be jamming the lands for sure. I assume you have a case gauge of some sort so you can set HS correctly(die set-up).

No, don't scrap them, they will work fine. I would just figure how long of a cartridge your mags will hold, and load them a little shorter than mag length. You should be able to load them to at least 2.800".
