Greetings,

Anyone knows where would be the best price for AC556?
Also, do I need a local Class III dealer (Like normal gun transfer) or do I just have to deal with a class III dealer that is selling the gun?

Thank you

Depends on where you found the gun. If it's in another state you may have to deal with multiple dealers; one to get it into your state to a local dealer, another to get it to you.

On the Class 3 dealer if it is out of state, you will need to find a C3 dealer in your state.

2. I would check subguns.com (.net?) for good prices, people are trying to offload the guns now. You can get Ac556's for around 7,000.00

And A word of caution, there is a reason they are so cheap, Ruger stopped making parts for them, Ruger will still service the weapons but when they run out of parts, they run out.

What parts would parts would wear out on them that could not be replaced?

AC556 is a good choice for a Class 3 weapon. Built like a tank. Ruger still services them and the only part that is non-existent is the receiver. Prices vary, many have been lower since the peak about 2 years ago. I have seen blue 18" police/prison guns as cheap as $5500 and Stainless folders KAC556F sell as high as $8500. No probably not as versatile as a M16 but probably more durable than a Registered receiver AR15.

Like stated before check Subguns.com easiest to find one in your state requires only 1 transfer and tax. One on a Form 3 in another state is two transfers and 1 tax and one on a form 4 in another state is 2 transfers and 2 taxes.

This is mine in a SCAR stock
