In my experience anything at or under 4 inches at 25 yards is darn nice shooting. Folks on this board may consider it to be an everyday thing but then THR is a fairly addicted and enthusiastic community that takes their shooting more seriously than many/most gun owners.

Having said this I've run into a number of shooters that can supply sub 3 inch groups at 25 more or less on demand. Such folks are a "one in twenty" sort of deal but there's enough of them that it can make the rest of us seem inadequite to ourselves on all too regular a basis.... :D

On a good day my old guy eyes and nerves can give me a 5 to 6 inch group at 25. And I shoot at 6 to 8 inch targets in Speed Steel monthly meets that are set up at 15 to 30 yards and manage to have around an 80% or maybe slightly better hit ratio.... except on the occasional bad day... :D These sort of results are good enough that I seem to end up at the top of the middle third of the results in my Speed Steel, IPSC and IDPA matches. With a lot more practice I could likely do better. But I know I'm in no danger of shooting well enough and fast enough to podium at any point. Just too many various shooting sports and other hobbies to devote the time to any one area.
