I am looking at a Savage 16FSS in 22-250 or 223 for coyotes and would like to know the normal accuracy from the hunter barrel models in these calibers. Vote for average group with selected ammo not average for all types of ammo tested.

What grain bullet would be most accurate for the 22-250 with the 1:12" twist and what would be the most accurate with the 1:9" twist of the 223?

Thanks

I am assuming the hunter barrels you refer to are the thinner barrels not varmint rigs...my stevens ( basically a Savage 10) in 223 is capable of better than I can shoot with 60 vmaxes...great gun for the money

Yes, any Savage 10, 11, 16 or Stevens 200 in 223 or 22-250 that doesn't have a heavy barrel.

I have a Savage Model 12 (1-7 twist) that shoots Black Hills 77g SMKs really well. I have a Stevens Model 200 in 223AI that shoots anything under 55g really well. I think it's a 1-14 twist.
