Accuracy loads for 10mm Auto

A search of this forum showed multiple posts saying the 10mm favorite was Blue Dot, which I went and bought. Although Blue Dot meters easily, it doesn't seem to meter consistently (+/-0.3gr) in the Dillon. 10 yd groups are 12" in diameter. Brass goes everywhere except onto the 9x12 tarp. No chrono data to share, but this behaves like a standard deviation issue due to wandering loads.

I've been successfully shooting 38 Super in a Kimber for years, so I don't think this is me.

Is there another powder for 10mm accuracy ? I have 20 common auto pistol powders, but don't know where to start. Any tips appreciated.

couple of things...

I wouldnt consider Berry's bullets if your trying to perfect accuracy. They are plenty accurate for my tastes on the plinking range but if I were loading for tight groups I probably wouldnt use the Berrys especially if your pistol likes the higher velocities.

Consider weighing each charge on a good quality weight checked balance scale for consistency if your loading for pure accuracy.

Never could get the plated bullets to shoot in my 10 or 40.

My Go-to-powder for accuracy in my DW CBOB is Ramshot Silhouette, next is Accurate #7. For high powder loads that are also accurate, getcha some Longshot.

Blue Dot and Power Pistol are good for awesome fireballs at night.

800 x for raw power, aa7 for accuracy, blue dot for just blasting has been my experience.

Like others, I gave up on Berry's for 10mm. Either go lead or go jacketed, but the middle was not a good accuracy plan for my 10's.

Depends if you're willing to compromise on power.

If not, I suggest Longshot. It's far more consistent than Blue Dot and will still put out nuclear loads. Probably second only to 800x.

If you're willing to compromise on power, you can make seriously accurate loads with 231. I almost never do anymore; it's kind of boring, and I have other guns (in other calibers) to use when shooting for groups.

I also agree on the plated .40/10mm bullets. I got a bunch for really cheap, now I know why. And it took me a while to figure it out!

I also like Accurate #7 in the 10MM.

It has always been the best combination of accuracy and velocity for me in both a Glock 20 and a S&W 1006. 180 Grain Hornady XTPs at 1300 fps with 1.5 inch 5 shot groups at 25 yards from both the Glock and the Smith. IME true jacketed bullets work better in the 10MM than the plated bullets.

Please follow all safe reloading practices and work up your loads, especially in the 10MM Glocks. IME they have a lower pressure ceiling than the tank like 1006.

I used Berry's in the past for mid level 10MM loads with Blue Dot. For powerhouse rounds, I used 180 gr Hornady XTP and 800X.

Another vote for AA#7 for accurate, not-full-throttle loads, and AA#9 for full-tilt stuff.
