Accuracy of Wolf .223 ammo

My take

Last Saturday I just got done shooting about 500 rounds of the new Wolf HP just last week. I have an RRA 16". It seems to get 2.5" MOA from it. Didn't have a single jam that day.

If I want to plink this is what I use. I just try to remember to drop some CLP into the guts and down the barrel if I don't get around to cleaning it within the first week.

(Note to self. Put some CLP into gun when you get home)

Seriously. I've run about 8,000'ish rounds through the AR this past year, I would guess over half of it was Wolf, new and old. Not great groups. If I want clovers I shoot Black Hills. If I want to plink, and am taking friends out I get Wolf. Or Brown Bear a few times. I don't touch Silver Bear. I had a bad experience getting it jammed in a Mini-14, even though it shot through my AR I'm a little leery of steel cases in a rifle.

I stoped using wolf in my H&R .223 after 20 rounds failure to eject had to use a cleaning rod to remove. I will stick to umc from wal-mart 1" groups at 100 yds and no problems. With my sks no problems with wolf ammo.

Minute of Pie Plate on the good days, and @ 100 yards, all the stuff I've shot before has been a 7" grouping with 5" being best out of a 22" AR..

Just for comparison, Federal will do (from the same gun) about 2" to 1"..

It's for spray and pray fun in the desert, not really for anything else..

In any combloc rifle, it's cheap, and it'll save your life if you need it to.

I'm for stockpiling Wolf if you have a good Russian rifle that'll eat it without a hitch, simply because you can get 3-4x as much as if you were going to buy surplus.

badger, Sportsmen Wearhouse/ "Paradise" in Anchorage had some of the new polymer coated ammo when I was up there a month ago.

I didn't check to see if they had the new stuff in .223 though

my buddy and myself have had pretty damn good success with the new stuff in 7.62X39

btw, any fellow Alaskan know where to get some cheap plinking .40sw ammo?

(I'm 21 in a day) :D :D :D

Try the Gun Show at the Sullivan on the 10th and 11th of July. If you can't wait, try Alaska Shooter Supply on Tudor or Gun Runners on Dimond. At the gun show, Virgile Davis is your best gun show source. Just ask around, you'll find him.
