I's still fairly new with reloading and wanted to get some opinions from others who have been at this for a while. I am shooting at 50ft at an indoor range that only allows lead bullets. I have some 147gr bullets coming from Missouri Bullet Co. and some WSF and W231 on hand. Hodgdon's site doesn't have any loads for 147gr cast and W231 and neither does my Lyman 49th but an older (2000) 9mm Loadbook form Loadbook USA has both. According to that Loadbook WSF@ a starting load of 3.7 has 905ft/s velocity and W231 at a starting load of 3.3 has 865ft/s velocity. What is usually more accurate at this distance, higher or lower velocity? They will be shot out of a SAXD9 4" barrel. Also the load for the W231 at this bullet weight has little wiggle room, 3.3min to 3.5max. I guess that would be due to the lack of room in a 9mm case. Thanks
