Okay, I've currently got a couple of .243's in the safe but neither one is a "shooter". I've got a Tikka that will hit a 5 gallon bucket at 100, if there's no wind, no matter what I feed it, what glass that's on it or who shoots it. I've got a $300 Axis combo that will hold around an 1 1/2" +\- with Fed. Blue box. My friends own a Ruger and a TC and they get about the same when we shoot. The Savage is the best of the bunch but still not as good as I would have hoped when I bought it. I have a couple of Axis in .223 that are pretty close to one hole shooters so I gambled on the .243. I had an old Colt/Sako .243 years ago that put pretty much everything I fed it in the 10 so I know it's possible. Does anyone own an off the shelf .243 that shoots really tight groups with off the shelf ammo. I just haven't run into one lately.
