Accurizing A Mosin-Nagant

Actually, I like the Mosin-Nagant's safety as it comes from the factory.

Holding the buttstock in the crook of my elbow, I can turn it on and off just fine.

If you have a fully loaded magazine and want to unload it without the round in the interrupter falling nose-first, turn the safety on while the bolt is open, close the bolt (it will stop 1/2 to 2/3 of the way closed), dump the four rounds, close the floor plate, then pluck the fifth round off the top.

Lots of neat lil' tricks to be done with it.

The Timney trigger is such a big improvement to the 91/30 for sporting applications, that it floats to the top of aftermarket improvements for any gun.

It makes the trigger pull decent, and adds a real safety.

I LOVE the Timney trigger, but I really wish they wouldn't have added their safety. It's bad enough having to hog the trigger area out on the stock, then you have to cut a space out for the safety.
