Their response if you get the required number of signatures :

The first assault weapons ban did nothing to prevent crime. But that's only because the ban didn't go far enough. If we go all the way and make all semi autos with removable magazines completely illegal, we'll definitely prevent crime this time, we promise.

These kind of polls are cool, but they need to be spread onto other sites. Arfcom and such.

    I thought about this.
And yes that is true, but there are alot of people out there who are ney sayers who say "no it's not a gate way to stricker control this is just "common sense approach"
The response you stated will force them to show their hand. Their goal is complete confinscation of firearms. I believe this played may help some on the fence realize that the gov. is simply trying to "inch" their way toward it. IF the common man can see the bigger picture, if we can make the anti's in gov admit thats their goal many will step up and resist their measures further..

Signed. If you can edit it, it'd be great if law abiding were two words.

bad idea, assuming they would pay attention to this petition, which they won't. They would say "well there were to many loopholes that need to be fixed".

Feinstein's proposal would do nothing more than rob citizens of their rights and turn otherwise good citizens into instant felons, by having them in possession of banned articles. This proposal is nothing more than a stepping stone toward stricter control (of people, behavior(?)....guns are just the first step.

Edited for spelling, didn't mess with the grammar too much. I think her proposal has grandfather clauses, not sure.
