Hey guys Im trying to sell a new DPMS for something a little bit different, I did the searches and found lots of stuff on all of them but I want to know what everyones feelings about them now is. Which will be better, more reliable, more accurate, handier and basically a better investment. So which one would you pic and why? Thanks for all your help! If you have other better options I would like those too! Thanks for all your help.

i can't say which would be 'better' but the SCAR looks to be very accurate. as far as an investment goes it may still have a bit of an edge as well. i kinda get the feeling that it will be an also ran, which would probably drive or at least maintain it's value in the long run if for nothing else but for the manufacture reputation and millitary association. besides, it looks really cool.

Buying any of those now is a near-certain money loser.

Investments - gold, silver, land.

Firearm investments - stuff that is already collectible or pre-86 transferable machineguns. You need a 10,000X crystal ball to pick out a collectible among firearms currently sold new at retail. The valuable ones are rarely apparent at the time of initial sale.

If you like shooting, buy something you want to shoot. If not, call a stockbroker.

Everyone has opinions, but the SCAR probably has the best reputation of the three you have listed. Do you insist on having something piston driven?

I would prefer an AR to any of those right now.

If I had to pick one of your choices, I would go with the SCAR. I would not buy the Sig, the dealers are having to slash prices on them to sell them. Nobody wants them.

You think maybe no one wanted them because they were overpriced, and now that the price has lowered they may start selling?

And even though I own a SIG 556 if money were no object I would have a SCAR, I just can't justify the exorbitant price tag.

What kind of AR would you guys suggest? I have looked at POF and like them I have owned a bushmaster which was a excellent rifle just not what I wanted and now have a DPMS i havent shot that I would like to sell for something new. So brands and models would be appreciated! Thanks

Colt 6920 is always a good choice, and can be had for less money now than ever.

I don't find the SCAR prices exorbitant anymore. There was a SCAR16S group buy setup on M4Carabine forum few days ago. I think the price was $1899+shipping.
I don't find it expensive at all.

I don't plan on a SCAR 16S since I have all the .223 Rem (5.56x45mm NATO) rifles I could ever want or need. I definitely plan on buying a 17S at some point ... maybe when they're readily available and I haven't just spent $2,600 on a scope.

Amongst your choices the SIG seems to be the best deal going right at the moment. That said, I have very limited experience with the SCAR and virtually none (meaning I have handled it) with the ACR. In hindsight, I think "other" is the best option, as i'd rather have a POF over the other options.

Now you're talking!!! :D My POF is the main reason why I have no interest in any more AR15s ... there's just no point. I already have a POF in .308 Win (20" barrel) and would like a 16" variant so the 17S would make a good choice. The cost is about the same as a POF but with the option to swap the barrel to 7mm-08 or .260 Rem at a reasonable cost, and easily, make it a really interesting proposition. Naturally, it may be a while before those barrels are available.

If you're spending SCAR/ACR bucks, I would personally use it towards a LaRue OBR. Mine is literally sub 1/2MOA in the accuracy department, the build quality is top notch, and LaRue has great service. Plus, if you want something unqiue, it's not something you're likely to run into at the range.

The Sig is fun too, at half the price or so these days (but half the accuracy, too, at 1-1.5MOA in mine at least).

I paid a good chunk of change for my SCAR 16s but I don't have any regrets it is a fantastic rifle and runs circles around my Sig 556 and Daniel Defense AR when it comes to accuracy. I'm already saving up to by a SCAR 17s when they come down in price a little, probably be another year or two I would imagine.

I had to sell off a few guns in order to gather enough money to buy the SCAR but in the end the guns I sold were worth selling after just the first range outing with the SCAR.

I have a Sig 556 Classic as well and considering I got it brand new for about $1k when they were on sale at Buds I have no regrets about buying one. It's not as accurate as the AR or SCAR but it's fun to shoot and more accurate than any AK I've ever owned. I'm not a big fan of the Sig 556 SWAT, I prefer the classic look because it's as close as I can get to owning a Sig 550/551. If money is a concern then go with the Sig because you can get some great deals on them right now.

If you don't mind spending the kind of money it would cost to buy an ACR then I would suggest the SCAR instead.

I got the Sig a year ago, but mostly because I didn't want an AR and the SCAR was, and still is, out of my price range. I'm happy enough with it and don't regret getting it one bit.

If the Sigs aren't selling all that well maybe it's because they weren't in Modern Warfare II ...

I really liked the SCAR I shot.

But for the premium price tag I have a hard time figuring out what it will do that my AR will not.

I voted SCAR just cause the ACR is currently a piece of crap and the Sig 556 is wicked front heavy but I also agree with the people that said go with an AR. If your stuck on getting a piston gun, look into LWRC.
