I bought my grandson ( 11) a Marlin 336 30/30 with a scope. When mounting the rifle his eye is well below where should be. It has low rings so I can't adjust that way. I added a strap on cheek rest I had laying around, but still not enough height. I'm looking into other adjustable combs and seeking opinions. The Bradley adjustable combs look like a good option but are pretty expansive ( $114.00 ( https://bradleycheekrest.com/Bradley-Adjustable_c11.htm?page=all ) But a plus is it could be transferred to another rifle if you wanted to. Another option is go with a Kydex type permanent such as Mathews, $42.00 and up ( https://matthewsfabrication.com/shop/ ) there several vendors that have this type. But then you are drilling holes in the stock. Just wondering if anyone has used these products and their opinion.
Thanks for any input

Thank you but I had something similar but it strapped on but still not enough height

Understood. Might not be the same though, this one comes with inserts:

The Comb Raising Kit 2.0 includes a heavy-duty neoprene sleeve and (5) various sized hi-density foam inserts. Use just one, or a combination of cheek pad sizes to alleviate any ill-fitting situation. Achieve increases as little as 1/8” or up to 1.5”+.

I just shove foam strips under the strap on or even neoprene cartridge holders to adjust comb height.

Build up a cheek riser with slices of a cheap Walmart yoga mat, wrap with saran wrap, then electrical tape.

The saran wrap keeps the tape from damaging the wood. Just peel off the excess saran wrap.

I’ve done every means of correcting comb height known to man. From duct tape and a sock to foam rubber and an ammo sleeve to kydex and some screws to bolt on delrin risers to strap on risers to cutting and embedding elevator assemblies…

I strongly prefer the bolt on options, and Victor Compaby Titan Universal risers work very well with adaptable height, low cost, and simple installation. These work very well for lifting the cheeks of young folks to align in the sights or optics.

Red and Purple here are my son’s rifles, the second sets of stocks on these when he turned 7, cut for 10.5” LOP and adding the cheek risers to align his smaller face.

This green is one of my PRS match rifles which inherently had way too low of comb, so I added the riser to bring my eye up where it needs to be behind the scope.

I made a kydex cheek rest for a rifle...molded myself (easy)... mounted with heavy duty velcro...cheap.

Now that I think about it...I also made one that bolted on, but I had to drill holes...this way was easier.

I'll have to do some measuring to see if the Victor Titan riser will work on my Choate Varmint stock. That s the only thing I do not like about that particular stock.

I just shove foam strips under the strap on or even neoprene cartridge holders to adjust comb height.

I have done similar but I used polyethylene pipe insulation. I was already slit on one side & was made for 1/2" diameter pipe. It was really cheap at the hardware store. I guess if I needed to go thicker I would buy a larger diameter pipe insulation & use it over what I have now.
