My new ranch rifle shoots several inches low with the iron sights. (the windage is right on) So I got out the owners manual to see which way to turn the adjuster -- it says you need to loosen one of the windage screws first (just one so you dont lose the adjustment) and then turn the top screw in 1/2 turn increments to raise and lower the aperture.
I did that, and the aperture doesn't move. I think the aperture is all the way down, and I can't turn the top screw clockwise. When I turn it counterclockwise, the screw unscrews but that's it. What am I doing wrong?
