I want to make the Remington 870 SPS Shurshot Synthetic Super Slug my next deer gun but I have a problem. I'm a tall guy with long arms and need a 14.5-15" LOP. Sometimes I can get by with a 14" but it's not ideal. Anything less is just not going to work for a hunting gun. The Length of pull on the Remington is 13.75".

A new stock will put me over budget and really isn't what I want to do.

Are there options, I read about shims between the stock and action but don't know how they work, that can lengthen the pull without effecting accuracy? If not does anyone have suggestions for other guns with similar features and quality in the same price range?

Thanks for your time.

Add a spacer with a pad of proper thickness - it's not hard if your synthetic stock has a way for screws to bite from a pad going through the spacer

Limbsaver and similar recoil pads are pretty thick and add to the LOP, plus they make shooting full power loads much more pleasant.

Great ideas guys. I should have thought of the slip on option. The more I read about this gun the more I like it.
