Trey, your description of the trigger is excellent. I called it "unusual" rather than "bad" because I shot it well enough. I tested the little Kel-Tec double-stack 9mm, the Taurus G2, and the Gock 26.
The Kel-Tec had a very stiff trigger. I wasn't able to shoot it as well as the other two.
The Taurus had a trigger just as you described. I shot it just fine.
The Glock had a normal Glock trigger. I shot it just fine, too.
I actually purchased them to test them, but got good deals on all three, so NBD. I traded the KT and spare mag for something else. I kept the Taurus, since it works fine and isn't worth much. The G26 is in my carry rotation. I traded its unwanted laser sight for two or three spare mags.
I hear you on the weak blued Taurus finish. That's why I paid about $25 extra for stainless.
