Looking for an affordable case for carrying my AR 15 to the range. Wife was trying to get me to get a Flamberge hard case from Dicks sporting goods, but I figured I could find something better. The $30 price is nice though, about what I have to spend. Right now all I have is the flimsy case it was shipped from the factory in.

MidwayUSA has some of their own branded soft cases for dirt cheap. Otherwise, check out Cheaperthandirt.com. Both will have some great deals. I can't show you the ones I'm talking about right now because they're blocked on my work computer, but go there and I think you'll find what you're looking for.

This is a little "outside the box";) but I've always been partial to base guitar gig bags as soft cases for AR style rifles.

The shape of these bags is perfect for pistol grips and optics, they are usually better made for the money than rifle cases, some have backpack style straps and, in sheeple dense environments, they draw little attention (I used to live in NYC and used them to transport scoped bolt action hunting rifles).

Here's 2 in your price range:

Go to www.cheaperthandirt.com and check out their ModGear cases. They are really well made, have tons of pockets and whatnot and are relatively inexpensive. I actually like my ModGear case more than my Blackhawk case which was $20-30 more expensive.

I use a blackhawk tactical rifle case for my AR (soft side, padded, 4 mag pouches and a zipper pouch. 36" long, double handles and removable shoulder strap). ~$40 at Cheaperthandirt.com
