I always liked the looks of the old bolt action bayonets, and they were always really cheap. Now it seems that they have gotten really expensive.

What is an affordable bayonet similar to the old Enfield or Springfield ones? I want something that is over a foot long.
Thanks

"...have gotten really expensive..." Yep. It's all about supply and demand. Real No. 1 Mk III Lee-Enfield and M1903 Springfield bayonets haven't been made for eons and have become collector's pieces. A No.1 Mk III 18" bayonet, in decent condition, runs close to $100 or more, these days. Depending on where you buy it. Gunparts wants $75.65 for a reproduction 1907 bayonet with a scabbard. Listed under SMLE.
A real M1905 Springfield bayonet can get close to $200US without a scabbard and depending on condition. Some places are insane, asking well over $400US for a bayonet with a scabbard in poor condition. $109.95 for a reproduction with a scabbard from Gunparts. Listed under M1 Garand. Same bayonet goes on a 1903 Springfield. Go to Brand/Manufacturer. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/ProductsMain.aspx
A No. 5 Rifle bayonet isn't cheap either. Not nearly as many made. $59.45 for a reproduction with a scabbard at Gunparts.
Kind of daft having the bayonets if you don't have the rifles too.
