I searched quite a while for my first 1911. I wanted a quality pistol that I would never get tired of, one that I would shoot quite a bit in order to get used to the platform, and eventually carry once I am used to it and verify that it's reliable. I checked out a bunch of different brands, got a bunch of advice from everyone I could and came to the conclusion to buy my first Colt Commander. I Shot about 100rds through her today and she ate everything without a hitch. I love blued guns and the deep bluing of the Colt looks great IMO. Eventually I might put some different grips on it, and possibly a beavertail down the road, but for now I'm planning on shooting as much as possible! Anyway, here's a few pictures of it!
(I apologize for the quality as these are taken with my cellphone and I'm about the least artistic person in the world as well.)
