Can anyone give me a site that I can go to an age a 870 Wingmaster?

Found one at a gun shop with 28 inch barrell and removable chokes. I assume that the chokes were added by a gunsmith, very nice job..... It is a very nice field gun, honest wear but not too much.... The Serial Number starts like this: V2753XXX.

The information I have indicates the Remington was made in 1979 . The V was only used for that year. To check this yourself goto www.dogpile.com do a search of "SERIALIZATION" there is a site by "BLUE BOOK INC" on my computer it is NUMBER 29 click on this one, there are serial numbers and dates for just about everything.

You can also send them an email with the question via their website. I've done this and the response came within a day or two.

Okay, the first thing I thought when I read the title to this thread was "Hmm, wonder why he wants his 870 to look older?" :D

Thanks for the help....

Scoupe.... Its the new trend.... Can't afford an classic so you make one..... Ha Ha..... :D

When I bought my wife's 1100 trap, the lady at Remington gave me the date faster than I could type this sentence.

Funny thing was that it was a birthday present and the gun was made the same year as my wife. I told her I searched and searched for that exact year  :D
