Somebody spank me . . . I gotta stop going into the pawn shops!

Rem. 700 . . .270, Leupold VX II. Decent wood.

Rem. 700 . . . 7mm Rem. Mag. Leupold VX III duplex reticle, nice wood!

Springfield Calv. short bb. 45-70 trapdoor, 1876.

Savages, Rugers, Winchesters, Marlins.

A whole rack full of pump action shotguns

Smith stainless semi-auto 45 ACP to die for . . .

And two blocks down the steet is "Bob's Sporting Goods" . . . which is two city blocks of . . . Ohhhhhhh just have a guess . . . *S*

Bob's has a stainless Marlin 1895 GS short bbl. in 45-70 . . .

There's no more room in my gun safe, but my budget allows for these sorts of toys. Besides which, every gun in the safe is worth more than I paid for it.

Last trip to Bob's for a Leupold VX III 1.5 - 6X 32mm heavy duplex, for the Ruger No. 1 stainless in 45-70, got me stopping at the pawn shop to look over the "sale . . . all guns 20% off." Weatherby Vanguard, mint, 30-06, Leupold VX II, 3 - 9x 40mm, $350 OTD.

What I really, really need to do is get an FFL and become a dealer. *S*

I wish I had pawn shops like that around here... geez. Lucky to find anything worth looking at that isn't a hunting rifle or ghetto-mod'd 12 gauge. Blah.

There are usually good guns to be found, negotiating a reasonable price is sometimes difficult though.

Seems like there are a lot of idiots out there who will pay more for a pawn shop gun than for a new on in a gun shop.

At a local pawn shop in town there is a used AK with a carbon stock for $850! All of the other pawn shops around town specialize in selling overpriced junk guns.

Pawnshops can make it very hard for a person to keep from buying that "bargain" rifle, at least for me. I have one EXCELLENT!! pawnshop about 60 miles from me and the deals these folks have never ceases to impress me. New mak 90's...$400, new sksm..$200 like new saiga 308 woody..$269. The list goes one, these guys buy cheap and just want to sell sell sell. I am going to call them tomorrow and see what they have, silly me. Oh, most pawnshops imho SUCK!!

I have a decent one right here in town. It has a nice selection of 1911s. Right now I have an 1897 winchester on layaway. 320. I still owe about 285. They don't have a huge selection, but they have a decent range of choices in shotguns. Then about 15-20 miles away there is the best gun store I have ever been in. They have or had a couple of weeks ago, 3 .50BMG rifles, at least 3 fn ps90s, a wide selection of rifles, and cases of handguns. I also have a couple of guns on layaway there until I get my income tax refund.

Ohh all those pawnshops up near Ft Lewis ... I got a couple of good deals at them . Just remember , haggle , haggle , haggle and a good deal shall be yours .

a local gun shop near me that I always go to offered me a job a last year, I turned it down for 2 reasons, 1. Im a full time engineering student and spend most of my time studying, and 2. because I know all the money would just go right back to them! :D

Missing the Northwest!

I miss the strip ouside Lewis, hitting Quantico Tactical and finishing at Tactical Tailor. I am in Northern Va now. Gun deals suck compared to Puyallup.

I have never got a "Super Bargain" at a pawn shop. Around here they basicly nonexistant. What few purchases I've made are about what a local dealer would give me. Essex

I always wanted to have a local down dirty pawn shop, but that dream never cane true yet. We have one in town and it sucks. The old bastard runing the **** hole won't even talk to us. I don't go in there very often.

somehow I got on good terms with the guy who runs the guns part of my local pawn shop. We have a good time chatting even though I haven't actually bought anything there yet. Man what's up with the .30-30 leverguns though, they must have 40 of 'em in various states sitting in the racks!

No .45-70 guide guns though. It's okay, I'm patient.

The past week I've hit most of the pawn shops around Ft. Lewis and there are no good deals for what I'm looking for. Gun and Bow, in Parlkand, does have two new AK's for 519 bucks. I was looking for a decent Wingmaster to convert to a riot gun but no joy. Model 94's are getting hard to find or priced way high for the condition. I'll be patient and wait for the WAC Show.

Not much choice

Have 2 in town.

One is the typical overpriced junk. I go in every couple of months and same old over priced beaters on the rack/case. There's never been anything that even began to catch my eye.

The other one is bigger but... in order to check out the guns you have to go to thier web site and "handle" them and make offer. From what I saw the one and only time was a bunch of 9MM tupperware guns.

No bargans to be found in my area...

Weatherby and VXII for 350 ? so you bought that, kept the scope and sold the rifle for 250? amd the scope for 250?

Im amazed at the stuff people put good glass on i saw a sako vixen in .223 with a vxII 2-7 for 600 about a year ago. also saw a rem 700 .280 with a 3-9 vx2 for 300!!

dont overlook beater rifles with good glass, sometimes its like getting the rifle for free !
