After losing out and not buying a Swiss K31 off of them when I had the chance, I've turned my sights on their relatively new imports of Russian capture vz. 24's. I don't own any Mausers yet, and I figure this would be a nice way to get one that's a good quality shooter to get an intimate feel of the weapon.

What are people's experiences with vz.24's, AIM or not? What kind of accuracy can I expect? Do they look good, and are the parts interchangeable with a Gewehr 98?

My brother bought one. It is gorgeous and extremely accurate. Dunno about parts interchangeability.

Do you know if the parts were unmatching, or force matched/electropenciled? I imagine that Ivan wasn't being too careful with keeping things in order when he was re-arsenaling a bunch of German rifles.

You might want to also check out J&Gsales Yugo 24/47 Mausers as they are a bit cheaper. The Yugo 24/47's were also arsenal refinished and I have yet to hear someone complain about the condition of the rifle.

I got one of AIM's vz 24's the last time they have them. Its condition is fantastic; it looks brand new. Wood is beautiful, great bluing, etc. The crest was ground, and its definitely a reblue/rework. All the old, stamped serial numbers matched, but there was also electropenciling. For example, the bolt handle had the serial number EP'd on it. But it was the same serial on the bolt, and embedded in the stock.

it is accurate (well, pretty accurate, for using surplus MG ammo), and very fun to shoot.
