Can you guys suggest a scope for my spring powered break-barrel 177cal pellet rifle? I have a scope on it, which is accurate and holds zero. But, when trying to shoot a pest squirrel under the tree in the shade, I can't see it through the scope. I need one with better light transmission. I would prefer just a 4x for my backyard.

You probably need something with at least 32mm to 40mm front lens. And low power or at least has a low power if zoom. You also need one that is rated for (spring) air rifles. Theyt beat the snot out of scopes with the reverse/double recoil. What exactly do you have thta you cannot see through?

While airsoft/BB guns with lower recoil force can work with cheaper scopes, break barrel springers produce hard reverse recoil and require higher quality scopes.

Check out this article/review of scopes for air rifles - https://outdoormoran.com/air-rifle-scopes-for-springers/

Crosman started optics division of Center Point about a decade ago and 4-16x40mm scopes I bought for $39 have worked well even in my 22LR/.223/.308 rifles but Center Point scope prices over the recent years have gone up (Like everything else).

While I have used Beeman/Swiss Arms 4x32mm scopes for Crosman/Beeman/Swiss Arms break barrel pellet rifles, I would recommend larger 40mm objective scopes for low light under the trees targets, especially at longer 50+ yards. Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn 3-9x40mm provided much greater light transmission than 32mm 4x scopes with greater 9x power magnification.

At your price point, likely all the scopes will be made in China but Bushnell Banner/Trophy lines are made in South Korea and comes with lifetime warranty for $79 - https://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Multi-X-Reticle-Riflescope-3-3-Inch/dp/B00IYHGAQO?ref_=ast_sto_dp

You will need narrower 11mm dovetail scope rings for pellet rifles (And height of your rings will depend on stock/cheek/eye height to center of scope) - https://www.airgundepot.com/airgun-scope-mounts.html?sort=salepriceasc

I like Mizugiwa one piece scope mount ($12) for firm "no shift" of scope - https://www.amazon.com/Mizugiwa-Piece-Profile-Magnum-Airgun/dp/B01A5IEZ0C/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2FLGZ4A3F1QM1&keywords=mizugiwa+one+piece+scope+mount&qid=1646055616&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=mizugiwa+one+piece+scope+moun,sporting,203&sr=1-3

Lower profile one piece mount for $19 - https://www.amazon.com/Hammers-Piece-AM4L-Magnum-Airguns/dp/B0052ZGVOC/ref=sr_1_6?crid=32G4BC8ADXNKR&keywords=one+piece+scope+mount&qid=1646056392&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=one+piece+scope+moun,sporting,223&sr=1-6

This is what I have on my Crosman Vantage. Variable instead of a fixed 4x, but I've been happy with it and it's held up. As others have mentioned, make sure you get something rated for spring air rifle recoil. I used the one piece Hammers mount linked above to mount it.

If I decided to spend more on an optic for my air rifle (unlikely because I don't shoot it much), I'd probably opt for one of the Hawke scopes that is air rifle rated.
