Just a suggestion. Before you go, print out the airline's policy from their website. I traveled this past week ( took a revolver & ammo ), and just knew I'd come across someone that didn't know their company regulations. So I printed out the page that spells out the rules & took it along. Came in handy on the return leg, when the ticket agent insisted that not only did the gun and ammo need to be locked in separate hard cases in a checked bag, but those hard cases had to be in separate checked bags. How nice for them, since thay are charging $15 to check 1 bag & another $25 for a 2nd checked bag ( a bag I didn't have ). Being able to show her in print, just what was required, saved me some grief.
