Its built on a stamped and dimpled U.S. "ITM ARMS RECEIVER" , its a SA85 parts kit, with Arsenal Nato length furniture, tapco G2 trigger group, chrome-lined barrel (presumably from the parts kit) and its GUN-KOTE'd with some ugly finish(Which does not look great in my opinion).

The great thing is that its in my state and I would receive it at my FFL within a couple days, but its on the other side of the state so gas costs would far exceed shipping and FFL transfer.

In fear of this being a great deal which I am assuming, I won't post the link :neener:

So what do you guys think of this deal?

And also, is it possible to dura-coat over a gun-kote? I hate the colt grey on it now, and for $30 I could make it a semi-glossy (preferred) finish.

Thanks so much.

Who built it? Depending on who built it, it could be money down the toilet.

Unless your state has a law against it, if the seller lives in the same state, they can mail the rifle right to your door if they choose.

I thought of that, but I do live in Washington state, and they are really liberal here :barf:

Well if anyone wants to answer my above questions and "Can you ship guns without using an FFL in Washington State?", then that would be great, in the mean time I am going to research the best I can...

Oh and I am sorry, but the listing does not specify who actually built it, and thats something I have not thought of.

I did email the seller to ask if there were any problems with it, they are an A+ seller on gunbroker.

When it comes to AK's who built it is extreamly important.
There aren't many big name AK builder that dont stand behind their product,..that being said there are a lot of home builder that you will never hear from again.
I really reccomend you spend some time at some of the AK sites and study for a bit. They money you save will be your own.
Rifle Dynamics
Red Jacket
AK103
All good guns and I own a Red Jacket and a AK 103 and they are both very practicle no BS guns.
With some work and lots of practise you can regularly shoot out to 300 m pretty easily with a quality AK.
Thanks

TYFOON;
It is politically incorrect to mention Mecca and AK47's in the same thread let alone sentance...LOL.
Thanks

It's not the home builder you need to watch out for.

It's the jobber that has a "quantity over quality" work ethic, or a company proven to not have any "quality control" program whatsoever *cough*Hesse*cough*

I'd put any of my home builds up against a "big name" build, because TBH, unless you just go out of your way to screw it up, you really can't.
