I have an AK 55 Hungarian parts kit that was built on a milled receiver.
I've had it for 12 years or so and decided (Ill-timed I'm sure) that I'd like to do something with it. Either sell the kit, or have it built.

I also have a stamped reciever, that sadly won't work with it.
So, I'm kinda' stuck as to what to do.
Good advice is certainly needed.

I shoot BP revolvers and Milsurp rifles for fun, and don't have a particular desire for an AK, but it certainly would be nice. But the milled receivers are the price of an already put together AK.

Any advice or help would certainly be appreciated.
If I get it built, I'll have to have a milled receiver though.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Interesting variant. It is said they were pretty nicely made guns, though I've never actually seen one.

If you have an itch to have an AK just to shoot, there are certainly much cheaper routes to go than having that kit built into a completed rifle.

If I had to guess, I'd say if you want to maximize your money, sell that kit to the right collector who will have it built into the gun he wants for his collection.

If you pay for a receiver, and pay to have someone knowledgeable assemble it, and then sell it, you might find that you've spent more than you can sell it for.

But, like all oddball rarities in various collector disciplines, that could really go either way.

Having it screwed up by a 'smith who doesn't get the job done right will ruin the value you have in it now.

I think if I were in your shoes I'd sell.

Thanks Sam,
I'm a long time reader of this site, just never posted.

I have a stamped receiver, but no kit to go with it.
And a milled kit but no receiver for it.
So, you can see my dilemma.
Thanks for the advice.
