My brother recently purchased a used AK-74. It was missing the rear sight, but it was a good deal so he bought it. He then bought a Scout Scope Mount to mount on the gun, but figured out that he was missing the leaf spring that fits into the rear sight. So he ordered one from Brownells, and it just arrived today. Now down to the real question; the installation guide said to "Slide the spring in till the knobby on the bottom fits into the divot on the gun." Sounds simple, right? This is where Murphy's Law comes into play. "If anything can go wrong, it will go wrong." The problem is, we cannot get the spring to slide in no matter what we do. (Even a hammer couldn't get it to slide in.)
Any suggestions on how to install the spring would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Matthew

Wrap the tip of a flat head screw driver with a towel and then use a hammer to walk it into place. That's how I had to do it last time I installed one. It definitely goes in and stays in.

Thank you very much! We tried it and it slid right in! Thanks again, Matthew
