AK advice needed

Go Saiga. Sure, Arsenals are nice, but they don't have the pedigree of the Saigas, and lately they have been having problems with shipping rifles that have canted sights and gas blocks. Now, this isn't a typical problem on those rifles by any means, and they do sell more well assembled rifles than those that aren't by a wide margin, but that's kind of low QC for a maker that charges an average of $700 or so for an AK, no matter how nice the product.

Saigas also allow you to convert them back to where they should be, and in the process, there is a lot that you can learn about the gun itself. Doing a Saiga conversion also allows you to make the choices about what you want on details ranging from bolt hold opens to sights to the style of stock you want. And when you're done, you come out with a Russian- born, brand- spankin' new AK that is fitted to your liking and costs less than most kit- assembled rifles and other products like the Arsenal product line.
