Hey guys,

I have a Romy G AK and i was wondering, is there anyway to get a "NATO length" underfolding stock for it? Does anyone make a long length side folder? This is my first AK and I didn't realize the stock was THAT short. I really dont mind the solid buttstock anyways, but I thought I would ask at least.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

The underfolder is the length it is out of design necessity.

If you want a longer side folder, go with an ACE stock.

They offer 3 stock lengths, 3 buttpad thicknesses, and your choice of other hardware to allow you to get the best fit for you.

Yep, thats what I thought about the underfolder. Anyone ever see a larger butt end pad or some thing on one? It would look a little wacky but, hey, function over fashion.

Thanks for the ACE tip. Anyone have one?

You may use a commie 'grenade launcher buttpad' on your AK stock. It'll add about an inch to the LOP and works on all types of stock.

That might be enough actually. I am going to look into it for sure, thanks.

Also, can anyone tell me about the skeleton style side folder from Ultimak? It seems that that might be just the right length for a lot cheaper that the ACE setup.

ya can't put an underfolder on a standard AK without major receiver surgery and an underfolder rear trunion..... ya gotta start with an underfolder if ya want that option so since ya have a fixed stock that rules that one out as an option for ya...

An ACE sidefolder or go with a collapsible M4 but don't waste time with the Crapco junk get an adapter block and a real M4 stock

Another option if ya like the fixed stock is simply going to a NATO length fixed stock..... the M4 conversion is the cheapest at about $70 when your done, a NATO length stock will run ya bout the same the ACE will be your most expensive option and will require hacksawing off the tang on your rear trunion, a few people on ak-files have extended the Romanian and East german side folders by cutting the rod and welding in a longer section, these side folders don't require any modification of the fixed stock rear trunion so your rifle maintains its versatility and adaptability

That's what I did on mine.

I got one from www.fseusa.com
