I hate the look of the supplied 74 muzzle brake. The rifle is an Arsenal SGL-21 with 24x1.5mm thread. I can't find a traditional slant brake in that thread size:banghead: 100_1575.jpg I bought this barrel nut from K-Var and like the looks more, what do you think?

I actually like the first, original style. They work IMO. but I dont think there's anything wrong with the barrel nut if that's what floats your boat.

The "traditional" slant brake was made obsolete in 1974.

You will never find a slant brake for a 24mm FSB.

If you want "traditional", you'll need to remove your FSB and replace it with one from an AKM, as well as thread your barrel 14x1LH for your slant brake (hate to tell you, but the 90° gas block isn't "traditional", either, so that means you'll end up replacing the whole barrel to obtain one that works reliably with the "traditional" 45° gas block).

AK-74 brake looks better, also it works a bit better then no/slant brake. But, your gun, and if it makes you happy, go for it.

The original (first pic) looks much better imo...but its yours, so whatever makes you happy is best.
