I have an ak with a canted front sight. Before i put the red dot on, i had adjusted the sight to hit POI. Bt when i shot further out it was hitting off to the right. It was only my second or third time shooting it, but my question is does the fact that the front sight is canted mean that it will hit further and further over the farther out i'm shooting?

You can adjust it for windage with an AK front sight tool. As long as you are able to get it zero'd straight (even with it no longer centered in the "wings") it should be ok. If it is slightly off, what you are describing would be expected, with the shots going further out with distance.
If it's hitting right, move the sight post to the left until it hits point of aim.

If POI is right you need to push the front sight more right to correct it.

If the rear sight was adjustable you'd push it to the left.

The canted FSB would bug me and I'd get it fixed correctly. Lots of info on the web on how to do this.

The problem is I did adjust it. It's seems that as I change the distance though; where it impacts horizontally changes. I wanna know if I had a bad day or if that's due to the canted sight

If it's canted too much you'll change elevation instead f windage. But the FSB would have to be closer to 3 or 9 o'clock for that effect to be pronounced.

How canted are we talking here? What range did you try it at?

it's canted just a bit towards the right. I had to move the windage of the sight almost all the way to the right to get it to shoot where i'm aiming dead on at 50 yards. But at 100 yards it was hitting off to the right about 3 inches. maybe just bad shooting habits showing up do to a greater affect at 100?

If it's making a consistent group at 3 inches right(center of group), then it most likely needs to be adjusted more. That ends up being 6 inches right at 200, 9 inches right at 300.... etc.
