Depends, it if it made in Belarus by Zenit, it should be an excellent optic. Quality similar to a Bushnell 3200, Burris FFII or Leupold VXI. (that's no joke)
If it is some no-name brand generic or some 1950's surplus or whatever the case may be -- then the scope is worthless. Like looking through a Coke bottle. I've seen these dozens of times at gunshows and gunshops. Pure garbage. Even with 4x, they do more to hurt your ability to hit than to help. Stick with irons.
If you can tear the X-ring out with an iron-sighted MAK-90, then you really don't need an optic. The AK is 200 yard platform, and if you can hit a chest at that range, you're pretty much done.
I have handled and fired a SAR a few times. I also have a MAK-90 next to me. The MAK-90 is far superior is barrel quality and build. I don't think you will acheive any practical gain with a magnified optic on a SAR. It is better suited for a non-magnified red dot type optic simply to eliminate having to line up sights, increase speed and sight picture. The MAK-90 would also be perfect with a non-magnified dot optic, but if you rip the 10 ring out with it, then it comes with enough accuracy to make use of some (low) magnification.
