AK47 style rifles

I'm looking at an AK47 style rifle for fun, SHTF. I had a VEPR but sold it because I didn't like the way it balanced. I'm looking for one w/ traditional wood furniture.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, the Romanian can be your rifle if you want an AK for a good price, love mine. But, since you mentioned balance, try to check'em out live at a shop or a show.

The Romy rifles will work fine and are inexpensive. If you want something that's better made with a nicer finish, and will be more accurate, go get yourself one of the Bulgarian AKs from Arsenal, Inc. I have an SLR-10SG and it's as well made as my Colt AR-15A3. Mine has a milled receiver so it's heavier than the SARs or the WASRs. Still much lighter and better balanced than the VEPRs, IMO.
