AK74s need to get more popular!

I have had AK47s and SKS for over 15 years but never owned a AK74 unit about a year ago and its become my favorite rifle. I have always been a fan of rugged rifles like, M1a, mini14, AKs and all rifles requiring little maintenance, oil or replacement parts. AK74 none corrosive ammo is the same price as 7.62 but 5.45 is very accurate simular to 556/223 ballistics, very little recoil and about half the weight of 7.62.

Rifles owned Springfield M1A, Ruger mini14, Ruger 10/22, Arsenal SLR-107FR(AK-47), Arsenal SGL 31(AK-74), Yugo Sks and AR Spike's Tactical upper DPMS lower.

Ok when it comes to AR15 or AK I'm basically clueless. Which is preferable SLR 104 or SGL 31?

Most folks feel that way, though I'm not sure why. Brand new factory ammo is available cheaper than steel cased .223, about $0.26 per round. Pre ban prices on 7n6 was about $0.17 per round. For a 9 cent difference, I'll take the new, non corrosive.

It wasn't popular before the 7N6 ban. It will become less popular or even extinct if other manufacturers don't address the ammo availability. I treat my 2 cases of 7N6 like gold now.

Tons of ammo available, brown bear, silver bear, golden tiger, red army, wolf makes 4 different kinds and hornady v-max. Average price 24-25 a round for non corrosive. Corrosive ammo is a pain to clean and it will rust out your rifle specially where the muzzle break meets the barrel and the gas tube. I rather pay 9 cents more per box of 30 for non corrosive.
