It was suggested to me in another thread that removing the AK74 style brake I currently have on my 47 clone, and replacing it with the original slant, will increase the accuracy of the weapon.

I saw the exact opposite posted somewhere else not 3 weeks ago claiming the 74 style increased accuracy on the 7.62x39 caliber AK style rifle.

That said, yesterday I managed a 4 out of 4 hit at 200 yards with the 74 brake firmly in place. 3 of the four were around 2 MOA, the 4th was a flyer, but still on the paper. None though were POA, but it was late and the sun was again in my eyes. For that matter I can barely see the target at that range.

So does anyone here have opinion/experience with muzzle breaks and their effect on accuracy? Please do tell.

I've never tried a brake, but I've swapped an A1 flash suppressor for bare barrel and slant brake on my AK with no difference in POI or accuracy at all. I've removed the heavy GL/brake on a 59/66 SKS with only a difference in POI, not accuracy.

I've got some kind of brake on my SA M5. It doesn't seem to affect accuracy negatively. I can hit 300 yard gongs regularly with open sights and this rifle/brake combo. It's pinned on and I haven't trieid to remove it to see the difference.
