I picked up another one of the Alaska Sportsman chest/belly holsters for my Super Blackhawk and the design is even better now that it was a few years back when I bought one for the SRH.

You can rig them any number of ways. They include loops at various positions so you can reorganize the straps to make it hang off to the side, in the center, horizontally or vertically. You can even strap it to your backpack.

The weight of the revolver is shifted to your shoulders, making it much easier to carry. You can also rig it to lift the whole assembly up to chest level and OUT OF THE WATER when you are fishing. This is a fantastic option for Alaska. The revolver fits in its pocket securely, but can be drawn very quickly when needed. The strap locking the revolver in can be clipped into the top loop to get it out of the wat, alowing for even faster access.

These are MUCH better quality wise than the Uncle Mike's ripoffs currently sold at Sportsman Warehouse. The stitching is impressive and locks down double layers of high-quality nylon.

i might have to order one of those for handgun hunting, it looks like just what i want.

is your blackhawk grip wrapped in tape?

Yes, it's to give me a slightly better grip without being too sticky. I usually love Hogue combat grips, but their design for the SBH changes its ergonomics too much.

that's a good idea, my first thought was of protecting the wood from the alaskan elements. i might do the same to my workhorse single six .22 mag, the grips are just a bit too skinny for my big hands.
