You lost me when you said, "straight walled cartridge". But I understand it must be a constraint imposed by your state's hunting regulations. I WAS going to suggest a SAKO Finnlight but in consideration of this will, instead, recommend a stainless Henry in your preferred caliber whatever it might be. Maybe .45-70 or 45LC? Personally, while others will disagree, I feel that .357 Mag is insufficient. How about a .44 mag? Levers have an appeal that is unique among firearms.

Speaking of straight wall states, I handled one of the CVA Cascade bolt rifles in .350 Legend. It had the camo stock and tan Cerakoted barrel. It was a nice budget rifle IMO. I also was looking at their break barrel Scout in stainless steel and Realtree camo, also available in several straight wall cartridges.

And there are solutions, if even needed, where the glint of light on stainless might be an issue. Some companies offer nitride stainless (!) which is black or Cerakoted options. There are also those camo wraps which I would never use on a blued rifle but on stainless they are not a problem. My matte stainless Kimber just does not reflect much light.

If I needed that kind of range, and still hunted a straight wall state I'd grab one of the newer "economy" rifles, the CVA, AXIS II, American, MVP, Venture et al in 350 Legend.

I would take care of it properly, a little grease/oil in the action and wipe it down when I can, but wouldn't fret too much over it. It'll pick up some "character" one way or the other in the type of woods I used to hunt around in.
