I am looking for a moderate load for 200 gr JHP bullets and BE-86 powder. Unfortunately the data is scarce.

It looks like BE-86 is very similar in all respects to Power Pistol (which has more data), with load data guesstimated at around 14% lower.

Does anyone have a better equivalence?

I've loaded 240 JSP with 10.6 and 11.0 grains of BE-86. Alliant's max is 11.6. I don't like these loads, but I'm going to keep trying to find an accurate one with this combination.
I think you may have to use the 240 grain bullet data to start out then work up from there slowly and carefully.
Hope this helps some

Power pistol is a good bit slower than BE86, so it would not be safe to use max load data for power pistol. BE86 is closer to unique. I would suggest using starting loads for unique and work up.

Ken, book shows 14 grains max BE-86 for a 180JHP, and 11.6 for a 240JHP. Split the difference or 210 grain, along with the difference in charge weight which comes to 12.8 max, minus 10% = 11.6 grains. Since this is book max for 240JHP, 11.6 BE-86 is a safe place to start with a 200JHP. BE-86 is my favorite powder in several calibers, and my notes show every best load is closer to max charge so I'd guess that you won't see accuracy at its best until you've worked up to 12.5 grains and above.
